Position Description

Lindsay Corporation is hiring an Associate Product Manager within its global product management team, reporting to the Sr. Product Manager, Global Agricultural Software.  This critical role will shape the future of software products used by Lindsay’s agriculture customers, as well as channel partners, and will have direct day-to-day responsibility for FieldNET and FieldNET Advisor, including serving as the Product Owner within the agile development environment. Additionally, this role will also be responsible for ensuring that the FieldNET and FieldNET Advisor platforms meet the needs of Lindsay’s customers and dealers globally, working closely with the digital product management and software development teams to develop roadmaps, business cases, product requirements / vision, and execute key projects based on the aforementioned needs.

 

Position Details

This is a full-time position is based in our Omaha, NE global headquarters with a highly competitive benefits package including relocation for the ideal candidate. Travel requirements will 20-30% and will include some international travel.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze Voice of Customer (VoC) and Voice of Dealer (VoD) information for determining existing product gaps and new products / features that should be added to the FieldNET and FieldNET Advisor platforms.
  • Inform and advise the product management team on the needs of customers and dealers, advocating for appropriate prioritization of these needs based on VoC and VoD findings
  • Assist the product management team in developing business cases, product requirements, and 3-5 year product roadmaps based on VoC and VoD findings
  • Perform the role of Software Product Owner in our agile development environment
  • Create user stories, wireframes and other foundational technical specifications for current and future products based on market information
  • Understand and clearly communicate your product’s technical details and vision with the development team and key stakeholders
  • Guide and inspire the software development team that is responsible for building new products and maintaining current products
  • Provide in-depth competitive analysis and sales support for the designated solutions
  • Help to define the user model and user interface for new and existing products and features.
  • Collaborate with the Design team to develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Gauge the usability of new and existing products while making constructive suggestions for change.
  • Review software bugs identified during testing or after release and prioritize action
  • Explore product concepts to find promising directions that address both human and business needs.
  • Build prototypes to assist in user research, using low- to high-fidelity techniques and/or build design tools to empower the Design Team.
  • Oversee and manage multiple, simultaneous projects while meeting tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders such as marketing, sales and channel partners on the creation of positioning and collateral to support market penetration and sales growth
  • Own development and execution of marketing and launch plans in coordination with sales and marketing teams
  • Contribute to the design and analysis of market research surveys including quantitative based approaches.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Agricultural-specific field (i.e., Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Ag Business, etc.), Engineering, or Computer Science or a similar field.  MA/MS or MBA preferred
  • 2+ years of practical product management, sales, product support, and/or software development experience within mechanized irrigation and precision agriculture
  • Experience with best practice agile scrum development and UI/UX design if preferred but not required
  • Experience in IoT applications that cover the whole spectrum from hardware to communication to cloud infrastructure to user platform
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills.  Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to make presentations to large groups of customers or channel partners
  • Excellent leadership, project management and organizational skills
