Position Description
Lindsay Corporation is seeking a talented and innovative New Product Introduction Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a New Product Introduction Engineer, you will play a crucial role in helping us bring cutting-edge products to the market by pushing the boundaries of technological advancements to enable mass production. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams that include: site manufacturing engineering, design engineering, supply chain, quality engineering, research and development, and marketing, to bring exciting new products from concept to commercialization. Position Details
This is a full-time position based in Omaha, NE. Regular travel may be required to implement new production processes, support field tests, customer visits, or collaborate with other Lindsay locations.
Duties & Responsibilities
The New Product Introduction Engineer will represent manufacturing engineering within the New Product Development (NPD) process. Collaborate with design engineering, product management, supply chain, quality engineering, and operations at effected manufacturing sites to ensure seamless product launch. Prepare plans for all NPI projects and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure a good quality product that meets all defined specifications. Develop new manufacturing processes that are tailored to the product in order to meet the desired quality requirements. Coordinate with test engineering to create production test plans and perform production tests according to manufacturing process instructions. Work collaboratively with site manufacturing teams to demonstrate production capabilities and desired capacity requirements for volume production.
Value Add Value Engineering Analysis: Perform detailed engineering analysis, simulations, and manufacturing knowhow to create high quality product that meets manufacturing and quality requirements. Ensure lessons learned are incorporated into new designs, processes and manufacturing equipment. Analyze and recommend improvements to all production processes and methods to facilitate safety improvements, cost reductions, efficiency gains and quality enhancements.
Prototype Development: Collaborate with design engineering and product management to ensure early-stage prototypes meet manufacturability standards that will translate into mass production.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams, product management, manufacturing, design engineering, and quality, to ensure seamless product development and successful product launches. Seek input from stakeholders to ensure the product meets customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in manufacturing development. Propose and implement innovative ideas to enhance existing products, manufacturing solutions and drive continuous improvement.
Project Management: Lead or participate in project teams, managing timelines, milestones, and budgets to ensure successful project execution. Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders on project progress and potential challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years experience in New Product Introduction, preferably in a relevant industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials selection to optimize product design.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to design and development challenges as they relate to manufacturing.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Project management experience and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Passion for innovation, a drive for continuous learning, and an eagerness to contribute to the success of the team and the organization.
