Position Description

The Territory Manager (Export Market) is responsible for taking operational responsibility and account for the company’s operational effectiveness and efficiency in terms of the specific territorial (regional) sales, marketing and related client/customer and dealer support functions, including meeting the set (pre-determined) sales / profit targets within the export region (all sub-Saharan countries with the exception of RSA, Namibia, and Botswana) and future regional based business / market expansion and presence (Territory) for the company.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement sustained and targeted sales and marketing strategies at growing regional revenue observing while monitoring and considering competitor strategies within the assigned region.
  • Implement and manage realistic sales targets as approved.
  • Perform customer research to discover sales opportunities and win loyalty of customers.
  • Assess and responding to each customer’s needs
  • Providing solutions, feedback and implementing more effective sales techniques specifically tailored to each group of customers
  • Present products and services to prospective customers.
  • Promote professional and effective liaison between the dealers and new / existing clients.
  • Establishing, servicing, supporting and growing the client / customer base and dealer network.
  • Ensure regular reporting of sales, forecasts, factory planning, etc. and communicating the data to relevant role players and the senior management team.
  • Generate materials and deliver training sessions on company product offerings and sales techniques. 
  • Participate with the extended Sales & Marketing group of Lindsay in industry or promotional events (e.g. trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships
  • Operationally manage and implement all sales and marketing communication (mainly quotations, scheduling, orders, dispatch, guarantees and confirmation and related correspondence with dealers, clients and customers) in conjunction with the company’s head office and adhering to established protocols.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years relevant sales & marketing and support management experience in a similar role, preferably within a similar environment.
  • Proven track record of increasing sales and revenue; field sales experience is preferred.Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Sales or Management and/or an appropriate technical qualification in Engineering or Agriculture, SABI qualification will be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in indirect/channel sales models, including developing, supporting, and enforcing performance expectations with dealers.
  • Experience in managing dealer performance and forecasting, with emphasis on regular evaluations and structured business development planning.
  • Strong understanding of ag-tech solutions and digital irrigation technologies, particularly IoT-based systems, telemetry, and remote management platforms.
  • Ability to market and sell technical products and interpret technical data related to the specific product range and meeting client needs.
  • Strong understanding of international trade laws and financial instruments.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in matrixed, multicultural environments.
