SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:
The AR Specialist is responsible for assisting to Finance Manager in the performance of the Department’s function and duties by rendering a comprehensive service to Lindsay Sulama. He/she will be responsible and accountable for the all financial operations, including forecasting, reporting, analyzing our financials, controlling all sales contracts, orders and posting Invoices from Created Orders.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND ASSOCIATED ACTIVITIES:
As an employee of Lindsay Sulama (6-months contract), the employee’s responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Sales Invoices
- Ensure all sales orders are processed in line with internal policies and procedures.
- Prepare and post Sales Invoices and relevant Revenue Recognition journals.
- Follow up receivables / collections.
- Manage Account Reconciliations with customers.
- Credit Control
- Support Customer Credit Limits and order base approvals
- Support LC processes
- Manage CAD transactions
- Sales Pricing
- Define and update local sales prices in line with International Price List
- Bank Transactions
- Manage Payment Order process providing required approvals.
- Manage Bank Sub Ledger
- General Ledger Maintenance and Reconciliations
- Manage Sales Related Account accruals like Sales Commissions, Warranty Accrual, etc.
- Verify and post Sales Credit Memos
- Periodically certify Reconciliations
- Reporting
- Monthly Reconciliations
- Bad Debt Report
- Insurance Report
- Other
- Support Internal / External Audit activities
- Support Ad-hoc report requests
- Legal Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all the applicable rules, regulations and laws in respect of Lindsay Sulama, its business operations and corporate governance responsibility when performing professional Bookkeeping. This includes but is not limited to:
- Sarbanes Oxley;
- Foreign Corrupt Practices Act;
- US GAAP ;
- VAT and Tax Legislation.
REQUIRED STANDARDS (JOB HOLDER AND HIS/HER DEPARTMENT) IN TERMS OF MEASUREMENT / KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI’S):
- All tasks must be submitted before defined deadlines meeting preset quality requirements
- No control deficit in terms of external or internal compliance requirements

Skills (Technical, Behavioural and other):
- Analytical skills. To assist senior executives in making strategic financial decisions.
- Communication skills. Excellent communication skills are essential in order to explain and justify complex financial transactions.
- Detail oriented. In preparing and analyzing reports such as balance sheets and income statements good attention to detail is required.
- Mathematical skills. Must be skilled in mathematics and accounting. An understanding of international finance and complex financial documents also is important.
- Organizational skills. In order to deal with a range of information and documents the job holder needs to stay organized to execute his/her tasks effectively.
Knowledge:
- Advance Knowledge of General Accounting
- Fluent in English both verbal and written
- Excellent Knowledge of Excel and Advance Knowledge of other Office Applications
- Good understanding of and experience with ERP systems
Education/ Qualification:
Preferred/Recommended: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
Experience: 3 years of working experience in Finance
Minimum 1 year working experience in AR function
