Position Description

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality-related operations, ensuring that products meet established standards and performance criteria. This role involves managing quality assurance processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.

 

Position Details

  • Identify critical points in the manufacturing process and specify sampling procedures.
  • Create and implement inspection and testing criteria or procedures.
  • Document testing procedures, methodologies, or criteria.
  • Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay updated.
  • Coordinate the selection and implementation of quality control equipment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Quality & Engineering Management Systems:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Regularly review and update quality policies and procedures to reflect best practices and industry standards.
  • Monitor compliance with quality standards and implement corrective actions as necessary.

 

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Establish quality control processes to monitor product quality throughout the production cycle.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and implement effective solutions

 

 

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing defects, enhancing product quality, and increasing efficiency.
  • Utilize statistical process control and other quality tools to analyze data, identify trends, and drive process improvements.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis for non-conformities and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.

 

Supplier Quality Management:

  • Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance to ensure that materials and components meet quality specifications.
  • Work closely with suppliers to address quality issues and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Implement supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.

 

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor the quality team, providing guidance and support for professional development.
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to enhance team performance.

 

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards related to quality and safety.
  • Develop and implement training programs to educate employees on quality standards and best practices.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to quality assurance and compliance.

 

Reporting:

  • Generate and present management reports on quality performance metrics, non-conformities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to communicate quality-related issues and recommend solutions.
     

Human Resources Management:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team by identifying improvement areas and fostering professional growth.
  • Ensure the team works efficiently with high engagement and alignment with company goals.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide motivation, and plan for the ongoing development of direct reports.

 

Authority:            

  • The Quality Engineering Manager has the authority to enforce quality standards and procedures across all departments, ensuring that products and processes comply with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • The manager is authorized to implement corrective actions and improvements in response to quality issues, as well as oversee supplier quality audits and evaluations. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or similar field of study
  • 3-5 years relevant quality and production management experience in a similar role, preferably within a similar environment.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) – American Society for Quality (ASQ)
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification
  • Six Sigma Certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt)
  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, if applicable
  • Relevant membership in professional organizations (e.g., ASQ, IATF, or local engineering associations)
