Position Summary:
A Fabricator will set up his/her production area by reading the sketches and designs to determine the configuration of the parts that are being made that day. Modifying or creating programs as needed. Operating CNC machines such as saws, brakes, panel masters and/or angle masters and other machinery that punch, cut, shape, bend or plasma cut different kinds of metal.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Analyzes drawings, sketches and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration.
- Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part.
- Maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment by cleaning, lubricating and adjusting parts.
- Revises program to eliminate instruction error or omissions.
- Must follow all safety rules and regulations, including the reporting of any hazards, violations, or
injuries to your Team Leader no matter how minor.
- Must operate safety equipment and help provide a safe working environment by maintaining good
housekeeping practices.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required by the Team Leader and to meet our customer needs.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Read a tape measure both in metric and standard.
- Must be able to use calipers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, preferred.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (metguard boots, protective eyewear, hard hats, gloves, ear plugs, etc.)
