Position Summary:

The Finishing Inspector will be responsible for keeping materials and paperwork needed to perform operations in assigned production areas. This position will also be accountable for the general organization and Quality of materials in their assigned area and the monitoring of ERP data to highlight possible issues.   Overall goal is contributing to higher overall productivity and quality for the organization.

 

 

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • A proactive team player who is a self-starter with constant attention to improvement/Details.
  • Must possess excellent reasoning, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Previous Quality/Finishing experience (including Forklift) preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with BC preferred.
  • Must be able to adhere to Lindsay policies and procedures, while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Must be willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, (push/pull/lift to 50 lbs.) and reach to perform job functions.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with conditions including but not limited to cold, heat, bright sun, noise, and nuisance dusts.
  • Ability to work closely with Team Members, Leads, Managers and Quality Personal and holding accountability with Team Members as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by his/her manager to ensure the best possible Safety, Quality and Cost deliverables for Lindsay.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Inspecting quality of finished product prior to leaving the galvanizing facility.
  • Identify nonconformances of assemblies, visual appearance, and coating thickness.
  • Rejecting/Accepting Products.
  • Notifying Finishers of incorrect, incomplete work and direction completion.
  • Monitoring and Training operators on proper finishing methods.
  • Escalating any quality issues to Leads and Managers and Quality Assurance Personal as necessary.
  • Ensure proper documentation/Check sheets are completed for all work performed.
  • Ensure parts are properly tagged, stamped accordingly before leaving the Galvanizing Process area.
  • Reinspecting/Accepting/Rejecting reworked materials.
  • Ability to complete SMR quality Tracking Tickets (will train).
  • Act as a safety Liaison for the Department, escalating any safety issues and aiding in improvements to the area or processes working closely with Managers and Value Stream Leaders.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (metguard boots, protective eyewear, hard hats, gloves, ear plugs, etc)
