Position Description

Lindsay Corporation is hiring a Quality Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting quality, manufacturing, and engineering functions within a global manufacturing organization.

The Quality Engineering Intern will work alongside Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians to support manufacturing quality initiatives, product and process audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts. This role is ideal for students interested in manufacturing, engineering, quality systems, and problem solving. Interns will gain valuable exposure to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams while learning how products are designed, manufactured, and continuously improved.

Position Details

This internship provides broad exposure to quality engineering and manufacturing operations through hands-on involvement in inspections, process evaluations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will also lead an individual quality or process improvement project and present the results to leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Learn Lindsay products, manufacturing processes, engineering systems, and quality management practices.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections using standard measurement equipment, vision systems, and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) equipment.
• Assist with corrective actions, containment activities, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and manufacturing documentation to understand product requirements.
• Support process evaluations, workflow improvements, manufacturing troubleshooting, and engineering change implementation activities.
• Participate in new product introductions, product improvement initiatives, and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams on quality-related projects and initiatives.
• Collect, analyze, and communicate data to support quality and process improvement efforts.
• Lead a quality or process improvement project from initiation through implementation and final presentation to leadership.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Strong interest in manufacturing, quality engineering, continuous improvement, and problem solving.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Experience with SolidWorks is preferred.
