Quality Improvement Engineer will design, develop and implement a written Nondestructive Testing Program and procedures utilizing: Ultrasonic Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Eddy Current Testing, Radiographic Testing. Develop programming scripts to facilitate communication between quality and production tools to aid in error proofing the production line. The ability to understand the interfaces between these tools, how they connect and communicate data are critical for development. Design, develop and use programming languages and software, such as Python, C Programming, Matlab, and Minitab to evaluate data and predict failures due to tooling wear, vibration, fatigue, material changes, other special causes. Utilize Solid Works 3d Modeling to integrate into Coordinate Measuring Machine Programming System to facilitate preproduction measurement programming, on-time delivery of PPAP/ISIR deliverables, enhance root cause analysis and corrective action. Devise automated testing programs using programming knowledge in Python and C languages that require input from the production line. Utilize knowledge in materials, chemistry and interactions to assist in root cause analysis of products. Work under the direction of Plant Quality Manager to develop, train, implement and sustain quality processes and systems for Lindsay plant. Support the implementation of ISO9001 system and its maintenance. Support to implement Standard Work Methodology at manufacturing site.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or engineering and 6 months of experience as an Engineer I Quality, which includes 6 months of experience in:
- Work under the direction of Plant Quality Manager to develop, train, implement and sustain quality processes and systems for Lindsay plant.
- Support the implementation of ISO9001 system and its maintenance.
- Support to implement Standard Work Methodology at manufacturing site.
- Participate in Daily Management/Production meetings and help in quality issues resolution;
- Support Lindsay CPAR system (Corrective and Preventive Action) implementation for site (leadership, training, support, and reporting).
- Participate in APQP activities (New Product Introduction);
- Provide support to Supplier Quality and Production team to improve process for incoming and in-process materials quality at manufacturing assembly.
- Provide Guidance to Site ME and other QA Engineers on PFMEA and Process Control Plan (CP) development, Implementation, and Continuous Improvement.
- Interact with all process teams to implement necessary quality tools.
- Assist Manufacturing Process Engineer in the development of Work Instructions and the implementation thereof.
- Facilitate Customer Return meetings to drive costs down.
- Interact with Customers for problem resolution to include improvements for product/process quality; the Quality Engineer has authority to stop production for quality related issues in conjunction with Management.
- Develop and implement quality inspections/standards throughout manufacturing on new and existing products; visit customers to better understand the development of quality criteria in-house.
- Support and facilitate structured problem-solving methods or any other that might be requested by the customer.
- Will provide services, as the need arises, at various field locations throughout the U.S.
- National travel is required 10% of the time.
