Work Schedule (times and hours per week)
Monday – Friday:
Apprentice schedule:
2nd shift 5pm to 9pm (20 hours)
*During Holiday Breaks from school and summertime the apprentice may work fulltime hours.
Position Description
Lindsay Corporation has openings for a Welding Apprenticeship. Position will be located at the heart of Lindsay’s operation – the Lindsay Plant in Lindsay, NE.

Apprentice works 20 hours, while attending school. *Holiday Breaks, Summertime you may work full time hours

If the apprentice leaves before 2 years of employment, they will be expected to pay Lindsay back.

Work safely and independently with others

Demonstrate welding skills and theory at entry- and advanced levels according to nationally recognized welding standards and codes.

Think critically, problem solve, and use creativity. Read and interpret welding drawings, and sketches.
Job Functions:
-
Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Maintain safety
-
Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications
-
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
-
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (MIG, MMA etc.)

Experience in using electrical or manual tools (tape measures, saws, squares, calipers etc.)
-
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
-
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Understands and processes work orders properly
On the Job Learning:

Maintain safety

Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications

Operate welding equipment

Notify others of equipment repair or maintenance needs

Watch operating equipment to detect malfunctions
Advancement
Post-coursework
Apprentices who complete required classroom training are eligible to receive an incremental hourly raise commensurate with skill gains.
Post-apprenticeship (2-3 years)
Promotion opportunities and full-time employment upon successful apprenticeship completion.
