Position Summary
The Technical Manager leads the local engineering and technical office for Lindsay Infrastructure road safety products. The role is accountable for engineering execution, technical compliance, product support, people leadership and delivery of new and existing product projects. The manager works across Sales, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and global Engineering to turn business and customer needs into safe, compliant and manufacturable solutions. The position also acts as the qualified technical professional for the manufacturer’s OS 12-A certificates of correct assembly and correct installation, subject to formal company appointment and legal authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, organise and develop the technical team, including priorities, workload, coaching, training and resource planning.
- Manage multiple engineering and product-development projects from requirements through design, testing, validation, industrialisation and release.
- Develop technical plans aligned with business priorities, customer needs, quality requirements, timelines and budgets.
- Own and review drawings, product codes, bills of materials, manufacturing routings, specifications, manuals, installation instructions and technical reports.
- Coordinate crash testing and other product-validation activities, including preparation, documentation, results review and follow-up actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable technical regulations, certification and homologation requirements, company procedures, quality systems and safety expectations.
- Lead technical risk management using design reviews, DFMA, DFMEA/FMEA, simulation and structured problem-solving.
- Partner with Operations, Quality and Supply Chain to resolve production, supplier and field issues and improve manufacturability.
- Prepare budgets, resource plans, technical KPIs and concise progress and risk updates for management.
- Act as Snoline's qualified technical professional for certificates of correct assembly and correct installation of road restraint systems in category OS 12-A, under Article 18, paragraph 22 of Annex II.12 to Legislative Decree 36/2023 and the applicable CSLP and ANSFISA guidance commonly referred to within the business as the 'Articolo 79' requirement.
- Review, technically verify and sign, when duly appointed and legally empowered by Snoline, the manufacturer's certificates of correct assembly and correct installation, ensuring the supporting technical and corporate-authority documentation is complete and traceable.
- Maintain the professional qualifications, Section A registration with the relevant Italian Order of Engineers, and any company appointment or special power of attorney required for the certification role; promptly disclose any change affecting eligibility.
- Interface with customers, contractors, works supervisors, testing and certification bodies, contracting authorities and public authorities on OS 12-A installation certification, technical compliance and supporting evidence.

Minimum Qualifications
- Mandatory: Master’s degree or equivalent five-year degree in Engineering, valid in Italy and relevant to the technical activities covered by the role.
- Mandatory: Successful completion of the Italian State Examination, or an equivalent legally recognised qualification, enabling registration as a professional engineer in Italy.
- Mandatory: Current registration in Section A of the relevant Italian Order of Engineers in a sector appropriate to the road restraint systems and technical certifications covered by the role.
- Mandatory: Legal and professional eligibility to be formally appointed and empowered by Snoline to sign certificates of correct assembly and correct installation for category OS 12-A on behalf of the manufacturer, including acceptance of a specific company appointment or special power of attorney where required.
- Mandatory: No professional restriction, incompatibility or conflict of interest preventing the required technical-signature and limited company-representation responsibilities.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in engineering leadership, technical management or a comparable senior engineering role.
- Experience managing complex technical projects and multidisciplinary contributors.
- Practical experience with mechanical design and 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of DFMA, DFMEA/FMEA, FEA, design verification, validation and structured testing.
- Experience with technical specifications, drawings, bills of materials, manuals and engineering reports.
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, product industrialisation and technical problem-solving.
- Understanding of applicable technical standards, quality systems and product-safety requirements.
- Italian suitable for technical and business communication; English at B2 level or above.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, ERP and project-management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Road restraint systems, crash cushions, traffic safety products or comparable regulated infrastructure experience.
- Experience with OS 12-A works, installation certificates, test laboratories, certification bodies, public authorities, consultants, contractors or distributors.
- Experience in a global, matrixed manufacturing organisation.
