Position Description 

Lindsay Corporation is hiring an Software Applications Engineer, within its overall software organization, reporting to the Manager, IoT Services at the assigned location. This important full stack developer role will be responsible for developing new production applications, performing maintenance on existing applications and utilizing web services to interact with cellular and satellite carriers. Additionally, this role will collaborate with our software and system engineers to design, implement, and deliver unique software solutions for Lindsay’s various product lines, including new products and features, as assigned each development sprint.  


Position Details 

This is a full-time, salaried position that can be based in either our Omaha, NE or Olathe, KS offices and includes a highly competitive salary/benefits package based on the location of the position. Travel requirements will be minimal (<5%), but there may be some travel to various office locations and conferences. 


Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Assists in developing, testing, and delivering high quality web app solutions, including new products and features 
  • Assists in new product development efforts, delivering innovative solutions on time and within the functional specifications 
  • Codes and configures software functionality according to functional specifications 
  • Tests code and debugs thoroughly prior to hand-off 
  • Research and resolves reported software application problems efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner 
  • Monitors cellular and satellite activation services and downloads
  • Monitors SQL Server jobs, stored procedure operation and data integrity
  • Generates reports
  • Writes SQL queries, stored procedures, and views
  • Adheres to the Lindsay software organization’s coding standards and guidelines, as well as the group's various processes, policies, and procedures 
  • Clearly communicates issues and roadblocks to maintain sprint scope and efficiency 




Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical education or equivalent experience. 
  • 3-6 years of relevant, professional software engineering experience 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where constant iteration, improvement, and innovation is key to the success of the team 
  • Robust problem-solving skills, the ability to learn from doing, personal accountability, and a positive and professional attitude 
  • Ability to communicate problems and solutions clearly and rapidly to prevent bottlenecks and facilitate the release process 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Expertise with the following:  
  • API Development and Integration
  • SQL
  • C# (desktop applications)
    • Experience with the following is preferred:
      • .NET Core
      • MS SQL (including Stored Procedures, SSRS and SSIS) 
      • Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
      • IoT Device Communication and Protocols
