Position Description

Lindsay Corporation is hiring a new Test Department Lead. This position oversees daily testing operations to ensure products are inspected and tested accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with established standards and requirements. This role coordinates test workflows, guides and supports test personnel, and upholds strict quality and reliability expectations to keep testing activities aligned with overall production schedules.

 

Position Details

This is a full-time position at our electronics manufacturing facility located in Olathe, KS. Hours are: Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–3:30pm; Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm; every other Friday off. Occasional extension of hours may be required based on business needs. This position reports to the Test Department Production Supervisor.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in the Test Department, actively participating in Test activities.
  • Train, mentor, and develop test personnel toward full competency and self‑sufficiency.
  • Execute assigned tasks from the supervisor accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with departmental priorities. 
  • Serve as a positive role model and change agent in support of company initiatives.
  • Direct and coordinate manpower within the test department to meet daily objectives and production timelines.
  • Work directly on production orders alongside team members to maintain throughput and resolve issues.
  • Partner with peer leads, supervisors and managers to prioritize incoming production orders based on dispatch lists and sales orders.
  • Ensure all testing processes, procedures, and safety requirements are followed in accordance with the organizational policies.
  • Complete required test documentation, logs, and records related to quality and business operations.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and workflow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe testing environment to support accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or additional electronics training are a plus.
  • 2–4 years of experience in electronic manufacturing or test environments preferred.
  • Strong ability to lead, coach, and train team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and procedural information clearly.
  • Quick learner with strong retention of technical processes and testing requirements.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Electronics Technology or Electrical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Understanding of IPC‑A‑610 workmanship guidelines
  • Hands‑on experience with electronic test instruments, including oscilloscopes, function generators, and multimeters
  • Basic experience with programming (Python, C) or navigating Linux environments
  • Previous leadership responsibilities in a manufacturing or test environments
  • Ability to fluently read schematics and utilize them to troubleshoot complex issues.

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Standing for extended periods may be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Work is performed in a test and manufacturing environment with exposure to electronic components and test equipment.
