Position Description
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to various projects within our operations team. You will work closely with experienced professionals and learn about optimizing manufacturing operations, improving process efficiency, and driving operational excellence. This internship will give you valuable insights into manufacturing and industrial engineering and help you develop essential skills for your future career
Position Details
This is a full-time, paid internship based at our newly renovated electronics manufacturing facility in Olathe, KS. The internship begins June 1, 2026, through August 14th. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm. Extension of normal hours may be necessary depending on business needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in process improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste
- Support the implementation of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and ensure product quality
- Gain exposure to various manufacturing technologies and equipment - Participate in data analysis and problem-solving activities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation and standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or similar field.
- Must be located in the Kansas City Metro area
- Must graduate December 2026 or later
- Must continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to a dynamic team environment
- Industrial design talent
- Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Eagerness to get involved in hands-on work
- Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma experience is a plus
- Ability to easily and effectively balance many priorities and results-oriented demands
- Effective interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to move and manipulate assemblies up to 35 pounds
- Must be able to operate various hand tools
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
