Position Description

Lindsay Corporation is hiring a new Master Production Scheduler. The Master Production Scheduler oversees the planning and coordination of materials and production activities. This role partners closely with the sourcing team to ensure timely material availability and develop optimized production schedules that maximize efficiency, support throughput goals, and meet customer delivery requirements.

Position Details

This is a full-time position at our electronics manufacturing facility located in Olathe, KS. Hours are Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–3:30pm; Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm; every other Friday off. Occasional extension of hours may be required based on business needs. This position reports to the Operations Planning Manager.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Production Planning & Scheduling
    • Develop and maintain production schedules that meet customer delivery requirements while optimizing capacity, labor, and inventory usage.
    • Analyze current, upcoming, and backlog orders to prioritize and sequence work efficiently.
    • Adjust schedules proactively to address material shortages, bottlenecks, and design or customer-driven changes.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Effective interpersonal communication with cross-functional partners such as production, purchasing, sourcing, sales, and product management.
    • Communicate schedule changes, risks, and constraints to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize downtime.
    • Partner with sourcing to ensure timely material availability and resolve complex supply issues.
  • Material & Inventory Management
    • Monitor material flow throughout the production process and take action to prevent delays.
    • Identify and resolve inventory-related issues across WIP, finished goods, and on-hand inventory levels.
    • Evaluate supplier timelines and ensure delivery commitments align with the production and shipping schedule.
  • Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
    • Coordinate solutions to scheduling conflicts across manufacturing, maintenance, and sales functions.
    • Address production and quality-related issues impacting schedule execution.
    • Support continuous improvement efforts, including development of Kanban systems and collaboration on ECN and new production introduction activities.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Produce and interpret reports related to production performance, material flow, and schedule adherence.
    • Recommend corrective actions and drive resolution independently with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 5+ years of experience in a related role within a manufacturing or materials environment.
  • Experience working with MRP systems in a production or supply-chain setting
  • Familiarity with Kanban, lean manufacturing concepts, or other inventory-control methods
  • APICS or similar supply-chain certification (preferred, not required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Proven analytical problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality standards, accuracy, and process reliability.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods as required by production-floor activities.
