Department: Through Hole Assembly

Hours: Monday through Thursday 6:00am to 3:30pm.  Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm.  Every other Friday off.  Occasional extension of typical hours may be necessary, depending upon business needs.

JOB SUMMARY

The Through-Hole Assembler is responsible for assembling, soldering, and inspecting electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with work instructions, drawings, and quality standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a production environment.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble electronic components onto printed circuit boards.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and production documentation.
  • Perform hand soldering of electronic components in accordance with IPC and company quality standards.
  • Identify component values, polarity, and orientation to ensure accurate placement.
  • Conduct visual inspections of assemblies to verify workmanship.
  • Utilize manufacturing tools and equipment, including soldering irons, cutters, crimpers, and hand tools.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
  • Follow ESD, safety, and quality procedures at all times.
  • Report material shortages, quality issues, and process concerns to supervisors or leads.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous electronics assembly or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with through-hole assembly and soldering preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written and visual work instructions.
  • Basic understanding of electronic components and PCB assembly processes.
  • IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred.

  • Ability to meet production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands for fine motor tasks.
  • Ability to distinguish colors for component identification and inspection.
  • Ability to work with tools and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
