Position Description:

The Vice President, Global Marketing and Communications will lead the development and execution of the global marketing & communications strategy for Lindsay and business divisions.  The position will collaborate with business leaders and senior leadership on setting strategic marketing and communication objectives and formulating creative strategies that drive brand health and business growth.


Position Details:

This leadership role is a full-time salaried position based out of corporate headquarters in Omaha, NE. Travel will be up to 15% to support all global business units, dealers and distributors and marketing programs effectively.  


Duties & Responsibilities:


Communications Strategy, Vision and Leadership


  • Set the vision, goals, KPIs and drives a high-performing team across marketing, communications and creative.
  • Global marketing with direct and functional leadership responsibility including strategy and tactical leadership across irrigation and infrastructure segments within a decentralized, matrixed organization, also managing a range of third-party marketing agencies and vendors.
  • Partner with other corporate departments and functional areas on internal communications, creative design and government relations.
  • Develop yearly budget, manage and drive operational excellence across all aspects of marketing and communications including brand health management, advertising and campaigns, tradeshows and special events, collateral materials, digital marketing (website, SEO, etc), social media channels, digital asset management, direct mail, media and government relations, email, sponsorships and agency/partner management and development, etc.
  • Launch annual customer satisfaction and brand perception survey to track and evaluate brand awareness and perception and partner with commercial teams to develop roadmap to increase market share.  
  • Manage Lindsay’s brands and clear positioning across business units to ensure long term success in a competitive environment.  


Communications Operations


  • Partner with corporate functions and business leaders in managing government relations, industry and community advocacy efforts including lobbying/government relations firms, industry associations and nonprofits organizations.
  • Exercise judgment to prioritize media opportunities, and prepare talking points, speeches, presentations and other supporting material as needed.
  • Actively engage, cultivate, and manage press relationships to ensure coverage surrounding Lindsay.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the communications function including budgeting, planning and staff development.
  • Work seamlessly across all Company functional areas in close coordination with and support for Lindsay’s Corporate Communications, HR, Operations, Sales, Product Management, Service & Support, Legal, Finance and Government Relations


Team Development/Management


  • Recruit, manage and develop a high performing marketing and communications team that supports the development and implementation of the marketing and communications strategic plan
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Ag related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • 10+ years of direct marketing experience with a hands-on role in various marketing tasks including market segmentation, brand health strategy, database management, creative development, trade shows, social media and digital marketing.
  • Experience in both digital including social media and traditional marketing channels.
  • Experience in agricultural or industrial equipment marketing through dealer organization or distributor channels required.
  • International business experience. Multilingual skills are a plus
  • Strong business acumen, decision-making, analytical skills and ability to get things done.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
