Position Description

The Quality Assurance Engineering Intern will support quality and validation efforts across hardware, firmware, and software products within Lindsay's IoT portfolio. This internship provides hands-on experience in product testing, validation, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with quality engineers, software developers, and product teams, the intern will gain exposure to the full product development lifecycle while helping ensure reliable, high-quality solutions for customers.

Internship Details

This is a full-time summer internship based at our global headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects while gaining valuable exposure to quality engineering, testing methodologies, and product development processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with executing test plans, test cases, and validation activities for hardware, firmware, and software products.
• Support verification and validation efforts by documenting test procedures and recording results.
• Participate in functional, regression, and system-level testing of IoT products and applications.
• Analyze test data and help identify trends, defects, and opportunities for improvement.
• Work with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and verify corrective actions.
• Assist in maintaining test environments, equipment, and documentation.
• Support root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of quality records, reports, and test documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and project discussions to gain exposure to quality engineering best practices.
• Present project findings and recommendations to engineering and leadership teams at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Sophomore, junior, or senior standing preferred.
• Interest in quality assurance, software testing, product validation, or embedded systems.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is a plus.
• Experience with data analysis, troubleshooting, or laboratory testing through coursework or projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and contributing to innovative products.
