Position Description

The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing network architectures to support Lindsay’s global locations and our cloud infrastructure.  This position is located at our Omaha headquarters and works a hybrid schedule, where core in-office days are Tuesday-Thursday.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Design and implement solutions to optimize Lindsay’s network, leveraging technologies such as firewalls, SD-WAN, immutable backups, cloud file storage services and monitoring solutions.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Develop and document network architecture diagrams, disaster recovery plans, business continuity plans and runbooks.
  • Stay up to date on security threats and vulnerabilities to mitigate risk to the company. Keep systems up to date with current patches and versions.  
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, as needed.
  • Mentor Network Admins and other IT professionals to foster a high performing, collaborative team.
  • Design and implement solutions to effectively monitor network performance and proactively avoid network failures.
  • Contribute to IT vision and direction by helping improve technical practices, choosing key technologies and anticipating areas of need.

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (or related field) or equivalent experience is recommended.
  • 8+ years of experience with network engineering.
  • Experience in leading the design and implementation of large-scale network architectures integrating leading solutions and tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of firewalls (Palo Alto preferred), SD-WAN and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Collaborative, transparent approach to projects and teams.
  • Ability to communicate the impact and risk of changes and upgrades to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong sense of urgency and strong commitment to quality customer service.
