Position Description
The Specialist Financial Analysis reports to the Controller, Lindsay Plant and will play a key role in the continued evolution of the Company’s accounting processes, systems, and controls. The individual in this role is expected to have a solid knowledge of accounting and finance principles, strong work ethic and a desire for learning and continuous improvement. As part of the Lindsay Finance Team, the individual in this role will work in a collaborative environment with all Lindsay departments to build relationships and accomplish objectives.
Position Details
The position is a full-time position based in Omaha, Nebraska or Lindsay Nebraska. Travel is expected to be minimal.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including analysis, validations, journal entries, and reconciliations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and audit requirements
- Support internal and external audit requests and follow up on action items
- Track actual results against expected targets, identifying root causes for variances in purchase price variance (PPV), labor efficiency, and shipping rates.
- Partner with plant manager, operation managers and supply chain teams to build annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and sales & operations planning (S&OP)
- Provide internal and external audit support
- Coordinate distribution of routine and ad hoc financial and cost accounting reports
- Manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines
- Apply critical thinking to identify risks, resolve issues, and communicate potential impacts to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years relevant accounting or finance experience
- Demonstrated analytical ability in a fast-paced work environment
- Ownership mentality to personally drive for results
- Excellent written and oral communication / interpersonal skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- (Preferred) Working knowledge of cost accounting and standard cost systems
