Position Description
Lindsay Corporation is hiring an Intern for Irrigation Test and Compliance Engineering to ensure regulatory compliance testing and assurance for Lindsay products. This individual will also help maintain compliance with our products' global regulatory requirements and perform safety evaluations on Lindsay products to ensure customer safety.
Position Details
This is a full-time position located at the corporate headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, with some travel to the Lindsay, NE facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure regulatory compliance of Lindsay products to global technical requirements, along with maintaining records, evidence, and technical construction files.
- Perform testing on Lindsay products, create test reports, failure analysis, and help the design engineering team to improve product design.
- Perform and review detailed safety risk analysis, FMEA, to enable risk identification and mitigation
- Review product documentation (test reports, product listings, labels, manuals, specifications, and datasheets) to ensure continued compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop a documented, systematic approach in specifying test methods, procedures, and conditions for testing, validation, and performance, and professional report writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree (or working towards one) in Engineering, Agricultural Science, or Mechanized systems management
- Proficiency in Microsoft software like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Desire to understand test procedures and technical compliance requirements in the global market
Physical Requirements
- Most of the role is office-based so working in an office setting for a minimum of 8 hours is required
- Manual handling of prototypes may be required, so lifting of up to 25 lbs. and use of hand tools is required
- Exposure to outdoor and field settings is required, which may include exposure to dust, pollen, and occasionally extreme weather conditions.
